Cathedral Mountain Lodge Opens May 24 For 2007 Summer Season
Up-Scale Accommodation Re-Opens This Spring and Offers
Preferred Opening Rates
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada
– Cathedral Mountain Lodge, re-opening May 24, is the newest luxury escape
offering the privacy and comfort of exclusive log cabins in the middle of
one of the most naturally stunning and serene places on earth – the Canadian
Rocky Mountains. This wilderness resort is set on the glacier-fed Kicking
Horse River in Yoho National Park, British Columbia, a scenic two-hour drive
from Calgary, Alberta.
To kick
off its 2007 season, the resort is offering preferred early season value of
up to 50 percent below regular costs. From May 24 – June 10, rates for a
Mountain View Wapta King Cabin at Cathedral Mountain Lodge begin at $170 CAD
per night. Standard lodge pricing will reconvene June 11 through the end of
the season when the resort closes for the winter on September 30.
Another
attractive option for traveling couples is the “Romance by the River
Package:” three nights accommodation in a luxury cabin, champagne and
hand-made Callebaut chocolate dipped strawberries upon arrival, picnic
basket breakfasts, and a three-course gourmet dinner for two at the
Riverside Dining Room. Package prices start at approximately $780 CAD per
couple. This package is available from May 24 – September 30, 2007.
Cathedral Mountain Lodge and its
29 surrounding luxury log cabins allow an escape from the frenzy and
stresses of city life and is the perfect remedy to revive, renew and
replenish with an infinite array of recreational activities. The newly
completed timber frame lodge, built with re-claimed Douglas fir posts and
beams, was designed by renowned Vancouver architect, Brad Lamoureux. The
Riverside Dining Room and Great Room are distinguished by an indoor/outdoor
river rock fireplace, 24-foot vaulted ceiling and 18-foot high windows,
providing majestic views from every vantage point.
Cathedral
Mountain Lodge’s cabins all embrace the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains with
beautiful beams of natural light streaming through the doublewide windows.
All cabins offer a wood burning or gas fireplace and deep soaker tub. Guests
can curl up in the sitting area amongst the cozy throws and cushions and
admire the beautiful views of the rippling river waters and one of a kind
background of stone-cut mountains.
Cathedral Mountain Lodge is part
of the Capilano Group of Companies (CGC), which is owned and operated by
Nancy Stibbard, who has developed a number of world renowned properties
including Capilano Suspension Bridge and Treetops Adventure in Vancouver and
Moraine Lake Lodge near Lake Louise. A new resort project is also expected
to be finished in 2009 on Mackenzie Beach in Tofino, on Vancouver Island.
